day1
First, we will head to Amami Park, where a coordinator will give an orientation explaining the origins of the Amami Islands. Next, we will visit the adjacent Tanaka Isson Memorial Museum, where we will be able to appreciate the beauty of Amami Oshima through paintings.
Tanaka Isson was a solitary Japanese painter who moved to Amami Oshima at the age of 50 and painted subtropical plants and birds with vivid colors and meticulous depictions. His talent was rediscovered after his death, earning him the nickname "Japan's Gauguin." His paintings, filled with clear light and featuring the subtropical nature of Amami Oshima, seem to embody the indelible brilliance of his soul.
まず最初に向かうのは奄美パークという施設でコーディネーターが奄美群島の成り立ちを説明しながらオリエンテーションいたします。隣接する田中一村記念館にて奄美大島の美しさを絵画からも感じていただきます。
田中一村は、50歳で奄美大島に移住し亜熱帯の植物や鳥を鮮烈な色彩と緻密な描写で描いた孤高の日本画家で没後にその才能が再評価され「日本のゴーギャン」とも称される不屈の画家。奄美大島の亜熱帯性気候の自然を主題とする澄んだ光にあふれた絵画は消えることのない彼の魂の輝きをも宿しているかのようです。

Spend a relaxing day on the beach, focusing on yoga. Experience the Kuroshio retreat at your own pace.

Located on the coastline, Kyoraumi Kobo produces pure brown sugar, which is used to make high-quality brown sugar shochu, which has gained attention from overseas. This mineral-rich brown sugar is delicious and will warm your body. You can also enjoy delicious food on the terrace while looking out at the ocean.
海岸線にある「きょら海工房」、海外からも注目されている高級黒糖焼酎の原料となる純黒糖を作っています。ミネラルたっぷりの黒糖は体に沁みる美味しさです。テラスでは海原を眺めながらおいしい料理もいただけます。

Oshima Tsumugi is a silk fabric with a history of about 1,300 years that originated on Amami Oshima and is one of the three great textiles in the world. Learn about the deep colors achieved through mud dyeing and the intricate kasuri patterns, as well as the mind-boggling complexity of the process.
大島紬は奄美大島を発祥とする約1300年の歴史を持つ絹織物で世界三大織物の一つ。泥染めによる深い色合いと繊細な絣模様、気が遠くなるようなその工程の複雑さを学びます。

The proprietress of Hana Hana Teahouse serves delicious local cuisine. At the World Heritage Center, you can learn about the ecosystem of Amami's endemic species.

day5
The final day will be themed around herbs that grow in subtropical climates. Enjoy herbal tea and gelato, and learn how to make a herb wreath to take home as a souvenir.
最終日は亜熱帯気候で育つハーブがテーマです。ハーブティーやジェラートを頂いて、お土産用のハーブリースの作り方を教わります。
Subtropical herbs have a gorgeous fragrance. Just having this wreath in your room will make you feel relaxed.
亜熱帯性気候のハーブはとても華やかな香りです。このリースがお部屋にあるだけでも癒されますね。
